How the academy teaches

Every course is written the same way: from the texts, with each tradition named and each calculation worked in the open.

Texts first

Every rule is taught from the text that states it, in translation with the Sanskrit for key verses, and every reading list names the edition it uses.

Traditions side by side

Where the schools disagree, each is taught as its own tradition, and a modern practice is named as modern.

The working shown

Every calculation is worked in the open, so a learner can reproduce each answer by hand. In Vāstu the worked examples come from the Ojas Vāstu engine.

Read for what it is

What a text says about fortune or ruin is taught as history, not as prediction. No course is a licence, and none promises a job or an outcome.

The levels the programmes run at

Each programme declares its own level. These are the programmes published today, in teaching order.

The published programmes could not be listed just now. The course catalogue lists them.

  • Syllabus: Live

The syllabus is published in full — every module, what it covers, how it is assessed and what it asks you to read.

  • Enrolment: Coming soon

Enrolment is not open yet: there is no price and no sign-up today. Opening it, with a place for learners to work in the studio, is the next step for these programmes.

Śāstrārtha: the tradition's method of argument

Traditionally, a question in the śāstras is settled by argument in three steps. The courses teach a reader to weigh a rule the same way — the Vāstu Foundation programme asks a learner to tell a traditional reading from a claim, and a remedy from a sales pitch.

Pūrvapakṣa — the opposing view

Traditionally, an argument opens by stating the view it will answer — at its strongest, and fairly.

Khaṇḍana — the refutation

The view is then tested against the text, the reasoning and the evidence, and shown where it fails.

Siddhānta — the conclusion

Only then is a conclusion stated — with what has been established, and on what grounds.
